Mental Health First Aid is a public education program designed to teach everyday citizens the skills to help another person who is struggling with a mental health concern or crisis. This evidence-based program provides a comprehensive overview of the most common mental health issues and a step-by-step action plan. THIS PROGRAM IS ENTIRELY VIRTUAL.
The curriculum includes two hours of self-paced, online instruction to be completed prior to the instructor-led session, which is mandatory. Registrants who do not complete it will be required to find an alternative session to attend. Once you have registered, a link will be sent to you to access the self-paced portion. Participants must attend the full instructor-led class to be certified. Registration closes one week prior to the program date.
Each participant receives access to the Mental Health First Aid online manual, and certification by the National Council for Behavioral Health as a "Mental Health First Aider." Certification is valid for 3 years and then renewable online.
